As posted in the welcome forum I'm not really a machinest but I do some measuring while assembling engines, transmissions and such.

Mostly I have used stuff and some new chinesium where I couldn't justify the cost of good used .

Starret 1-2 micrometer

Cool wood box it came with to store it in

Must use a standard to calibrate

Fowler chinesium bore gauge set

Nice set of tools!  Engine and tranny guys are more machinist than they sometimes realize or think!

Welcome to the forum.  Nice collection of mics you have there.
For some unknown reason I never aquired anything larger than 0-1" mics and end up using calipers most of the time.

You can't beat those Lufkin Tools.  They built nice tools back in time. I have a set of them that measure from 0 to 7".  In my small shop I hardly measure anything over 3" diameter.

I do have a set of Chinese made micrometers from 0" to 6". I still prefer my Starrett and Scherr-Tumico micrometers over the Chinese ones, but I do need to give credit where it is due!  I have compared the standards for the Chinese units to my gauge blocks and have found them to be dead on accurate.  I have also used the gauge blocks to check my mikes at various random settings after calibrating them, and they are spot on. No complaints here.
