Here is a bunch of gear cutters that entered my shop way  back when I was in high school around 1975. Dad found them at a old electric motor shop that used to be in Houston. Back then, I had a B & S no. 3 horizontal mill I rebuilt and a no. 2 B & S dividing head. I made several gears for a lathe I rebuilt back then using some of these cutters.
Later in life I sold the mill along with the cutters to a family friend of mine. He recently sold off his shop to retire due to old age. I asked about the cutters, he said come get them. I am tickled to get them. Have a couple of gears projects I want to work on in the near future.

Not used much in my hobby shop, but when you do need them...priceless!

If anyone needs to borrow one, shoot me a message.
BTW: I do not have any Module cutters in this bunch, just plan old involute ones.  Mostly 14.5° PA with a few 20° PA.

I was thinking about this post last night and I don't usually have much to offer this site but I also have a stack of cutters and can make the same offer as above.  Maybe instead of pestering ya'll for info, I can try and be a resource.  :smiley_thebest:

I've got an idea!

What if we could start a tool loaning center?  A place where those who have items available to loan out could place a listing of what they have.  Loan arrangements would be totally offline and would be strictly between the lender and the borrower.

Now I just need to figure out a way to make a catalog available where those who post available items can edit their listing as necessary.
