New feature in Downloads - Yes or No?

We have the ability to automatically create a new thread in the forum when something is added to the Downloads section. For some users this might be well liked while others might hate it. So, should we automatically create such posts?

I like the idea of an auto thread so notification is received of a newly uploaded item.
Should a special forum topic section where these posts will be added be created or do you envision it posted under the current topics ?

I already created a separate forum section for those notification posts. That section may potentially also contain a downloads index, but I am not sure if we are going to create that index or not. The Downloads area has a pretty nice search function which really negates the need for an index.
