Topic Preview

Is it possible to have a topic preview - where you hover the cursor over an topic and the text of the post opens up as a small preview?

That ability is not built into the forum software. I know that some forums have that, and it is a nice feature, but is quite limited in what is can show. I can look to see if such functionality is available as an add-on, but I do not recall such a thing being available. Give me a little time and I will see what we can do.
