I am trying to use the TinyPortal to put some drawings I have from old sites etc.  in for people to use, but have not figured out how to do it.  Post to it or something.  Any assistance would be greatfull.

That's something on Terry's list of things to do.
There should be an upload button when you open the TinyPortal downloads page and he's adding user controls to restrict download access if you desire.
Due to recent legal scams out there, I think once you can upload, it won't appear until reviewed by a staff member to try and prevent any copy-rite or inappropriate material.

It is one of those things that I need to give a little attention to. I just got done for the day so it is time for some supper, then paperwork, and then I will see if I can get a good enough internet connection through my phone for my laptop to function in a usable fashion. At worst I should get it to fly this weekend.

I worked on this a little bit last night and the 'submit' button will not appear for members. I had this working on the temporary site but it will not work here for some reason. I need to do some fiddling and some research and find the solution. There are security parameters involved, so I may have to dig deep.

I will keep you all posted as I move forward.

Terry, I did a little digging for you and found this: https://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=36894.0
According to it, there's a "Permissions" section to allow certain groups to have access to uploads or not.
Hope it helps.

Thanks Jimmy, but I've already been through the permissions and they are all set correctly. Gotta continue looking I guess.

I'm sure you're already aware of this, but I'll post it anyway: https://www.tinyportal.net/docs/index.php?page=Supported-versions
It talks about supported versions of PHP.
While searching, I recall reading something about Tiny Portal and Shoutbox. I'm assuming whatever the issue is with Tiny Portal Upload button is at least part of the reason that the Shoutbox isn't currently working either.
I'll keep digging to see if I can find anything that may help.

TerryWerm

I checked the initialization files on the server and found one with an important line for Tiny Portal that needed a minor correction.

Moderators should be able to manage files and approve uploads in the download section and members should be able to upload files to the download section.

The Shoutbox has not yet been turned on, but I will mess with it after I get the downloads working.

Downloads are now working. Ken, you should be able to upload them now. A moderator or admin can approve them after you upload them.

After I got done messing with the downloads area I turned on the Shoutbox and tested it too.

Enjoy!

Ok was able to upload a couple for you all to look at and decide if you want to put them up for download.   I even have one from someone on here, if he oks it.  will send him an email and check

Since this problem appears to have been resolved, this thread is being locked.
