As I bought my lathe, an lantern tool post was included, I never used it until I found it's quality regarding stability.
I had to take a horden since I simply did not have any useable tool holder. Finally, I have made some based on HSS tool steel 3x3 mm.
The parting tool is based on flat HSS tool steel.

Lantern tool posts do have their place as you have found! Personally, I much prefer the wedge style QCTP but every now and then I stumble on a situation where the old-fashioned lantern tool post becomes the tool of choice.
Hey Leo,
I was wondering how easy or difficult it was for you to find parts and/or tooling for your Atlas lathe in the Netherlands ?
I went back and re-read your initial intro post where you stated finding the old site looking for information on your lathe.
If you're still needing any info on it, I'm sure myself and others here would gladly help to try and find anything you need. Posting the model and serial numbers would help in that endeavor.
Now that I found this thread the question{s} become clear! LOL. Good looking kit
