Title: small drill chuck
Post by: leo.abo on Apr 29, 2024, 06:38 AM
small drill chuck,

To be able to drill small holes on my lathe, I created this tool.
Normally I would use the tail stock but this is not sensitive enough and make me braking drills.20240428_140126.jpg20240428_135922.jpg20240428_135952.jpg

Neat set-up.
I'm guessing this allows you to hand feed the drill bit ?

Makes me wonder if you could salvage the slip clutch from an old junk drill and adapt it or a spring and washer type slip clutch so you wouldn't have to use your hands.

I recently bought a small Jacob's chucks, 7A mounted to an MT#2 arbor for tailstock use on my Atlas 12" lathe. Looks a lot like your setup.
