Title: Mobile access
Post by: PJ on Apr 22, 2024, 01:50 PM
If possible can we make the site available via Tapatalk app.again??
I hardly if ever get on forums via PC and using mobile phone browsers while possible, is a royal pain.  10X easier to navigate and posting photos takes seconds, ZERO monkeying around with resizing or silly upload procedures.

Yes, it is one of the things on my radar, but a few other things have got priority. Have a little patience and we will get there.

A BIG THANK YOU for asking!! We want to make this new place WAY better than the old one, and that takes a little work, but it will be worthwhile.

Awesome.  Hope it's not too big of a hassle for the admins.

Well, I installed Tapatalk and it did not go well. I did everything that was called for in the instructions, but no go. It started creating errors faster than I could remove them from the log. So, I had to uninstall it just to make sure that the main forum itself did not crash.

The only version of Tapatalk that will work with the current version of our forum software happens to be a beta version. They can be fraught with peril and headaches, so I am not too enthused at this time.

Stay tuned though, I don't give up easily. I will give it a try again, but it might be a week or two because I will need to devote a fair bit of time to researching what went wrong and figure out what needs to be done differently. We might have to wait for a final version of Tapatalk to become available. We shall see.

No fan of TT here. I tried it once, took about 10 minutes to figure out I hated it!

Tapatalk seems to be one of those apps that you either love or hate. I never cared for it myself, but I have nothing against having it available as long as it does not change the structure of the forum software or the database. I have not yet taken the time to research it in depth, but it is on my to do list.
