Title: DIY sand casting tool
Post by: Piggiron on Jun 02, 2024, 09:41 AM
I subscribe and get email notifications from "https://www.instructables.com/ (https://www.instructables.com/)".
One of the articles this morning was this: https://www.instructables.com/Arduino-CNC-Thermocol-Cutter/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email (https://www.instructables.com/Arduino-CNC-Thermocol-Cutter/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email)

I think this would be a cool little tool from making Styrofoam sand casting forms.

Yes, hot wire cutting presumably works very well. I need to do more experimenting with foam density.

We had some very successful lost foam aluminum casting last fall. Getting the refractory cement right seemed to be critical to success.
